Monitoring your system hardware

Click the start menu and select run

Then type perfmon.msc in the text box and click the ok button

Configuring alerts

  1. start the performance application if it is not started ,then once it is started expand the performance logs and alerts item.
  2. next ,click the alert item and you will see the list of active alerts set up on your system in the window on the right .
  3. right click on the open window on the right side of the screen and select new alert settings.
  4. type a name of your new alert in the dialog box and click ok.
  5. next ,on the alert setting page ,click the button to add a performance counter to b monitored
  6. once you have finished adding a performance counter close the add counters window, then fill the settings for the event trigger.
  7. also take a look at the simple data every section to set this area properly
  8. click the action tab specify what would you like to b done when and if your alert is triggered
  9. click the button ok and you are finished with the settings.
